Indian sari

The Indian sari is a traditional women's garment in the Indian subcontinent, which is a rectangular cloth from 4.5 to 9 meters long and up to 1.2 meters wide.156 It is wrapped around the body in a special way . The sari is worn with a blouse (choli or ravika) and a petticoat (pavada/pavadai).

Usually, the sari is wrapped around the hips, draping the legs, and the upper edge is fixed on the tight belt of the petticoat and then thrown over one shoulder.56 The free end of the sari (palla) is draped over the head by women.

In the modern world, saris are made from natural and synthetic fabrics and decorated with embroidery, sequins and precious stones.

In India, sari colors matter:

Red — well—being, love, family happiness,

Yellow — prosperity, harmony, vitality,

Green — fertility and the forces of nature,

White - peace, tranquility,

Blue — strength and masculinity.
